The Arab night owls in the sixties and seventies listened to one guy and one guy only, Syrian Farid al Atrash. He had hundreds of songs about love and sleepless nights. He is a composer who likes to play the lute and sing for those folks who cannot seem to get a rest in their night. He knows pain, the romantic kind and for that he was rewarded with a colorful career in both music and films.
He is the original dude, a father figure who is much cooler than your old man. Slow music is his jam and he has no problem standing around for ten minutes enjoying the music waiting for his cue before he can tweet.
