I have taken a bit of a break from writing about Arabic music and its news. But here’s one song that I had to share with you all as it comes form the heart and touched me. The celebrated Lebanese pan Arab singer and songwriter Ahmed Kaabour is back in a new song that takes up the plight of the Palestinian prisoners–many of whom have been on a hunger strike. Ahmed showers them with love, praises and promises them glory.
This artist has done so many songs about Palestine, he is one of those committed voices that we do not have many of no more. He has done the same line of socially aware songs about the issues that unite the Arab people. I think we lack voices like this at this hour where even the Khaleej is not getting along. I like Ahmad and respect him a great deal for this song and for bringing the issue of the prisoners to a wider audience.
