Moroccan artists Jamila and Grini have joined forces once again and this time they are taking their talent globally and to a new audience. Last time, they sang together, they went after India, this time, they go after Latin America and things have not been the same. In a beautiful track that features A global Puerto Rican sensation and Cuban band that keeps it real. It’s a party song for La Godzadera, only the Arabic version, and the revolution is now global but the party remains local.
Like many, I have been impressed by pop stars from the West corner of Arabia, they tend to do the most innovative and exciting pop songs (and music videos) They also tend to have that crossover appeal that makes borders and dialects irrelevant. There are many great stars doing some amazing work, but the fresh hits tend to be coming more often than not from Morocco, a land that blends, Arabia, Africa, local traditions and subcultures with what Europe has to offer.
I am feeling this summer has been the Latin American summer in the number of international hits. The Arabic version is a worthy companion to the global hit in terms of fashion, colors, and sounds.
